happy anzac day

well, i finally finished the life of pi. hmmm, what can i say... it's different? good or bad i'm actually not sure. some parts are so incredibly boring that you're like 'why am i even reading this'? and then some parts are like OMGSH WATTHEHECK THAT'S CRAZY MUST KEEP READING.

yeh, i dunno it's just, the vocab and the way he describes stuff. it's amazing. like...just soooo knowledgeable. and it's crazy the amount of research he did on this like the behaviour of animals, their lifestyles, the ocean, ships, surviving sunken ships, etc etc. it's crazy how much i learnt just by reading this book.

it's also so interesting to read on the levels a person would go to stay alive. this guy was desperate. he ran out of his food supplies and just practically ate everything he caught: turtles, fish and birds were semi raw; not a single thing was wasted: blood was drunk, cartilage was sucked on and all organs were devoured. it's soooooo interesting how people would react and think in desperate situations.

anywai, i believe i want to pursue a different non-permanent career right now. seriously i'm so sick of michel's. the long hours are just killing me and the low pay is terrible. and i only get to learn coffee when i've been working for "a while", which i'm not even sure of when that is. i'm pretty sure that i won't get a pay rise until i actually turn 16 so i don't know if i want to continue this. i wouldn't mind the same pay but something more lax, like...CINEMA, where i wouldnt have to stand for so long...seriously, that looks awesome!

anyway, seeing as SOME PEOPLE are getting sick of my paper-binding fascinations, let's take a break from the inventions, ...

genius #4: six degrees of separation

wikipedia: Six degrees of separation (also referred to as the "Human Web") refers to the idea that everyone is at most six steps away from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of, "a friend of a friend" statements can be made to connect any two people in six steps or less.

dude. isn't that just. awesum?!
that means that i am connected to everyone in the world by onli SIX people?! how little is that! that's crazy!
although, yes, it is a theory. but come on. that's insane.

Frigyes Karinthy was the guy that first suggested this, and it became popular by some play (of the same name).
I believe that is quite the genius.

this picture is crazy.
