geniuses in the most simple of things

because of this new layout, i'm gonna write shorter posts, or at least try...
and since there's nothing that interesting about my daily routine except the fact that school is starting soon and with it the half yearlies, i shall start sharing with you anything that i think is genius.
so, genius inventions, genius theories, genius discoveries. anything genius.

genius #1: the humble paperclip.
it's such a simple thing that we take for granted, but look at it!
any other shape just wouldn't work as well as the one most popular nowadays, the Gem paper clip. i have one paperclip that is in the shape of a hand, and another in the shape of a triangle, but i never use them since they're practically useless. they always get loose and never work out to actually 'clip paper'.

so wikipedia says its unclear who was the actual inventor, since early documents don't have drawings of their paper clips and the Gem paper clip isn't even patented. BUT i still reckon that guy is a genius. imagine if he patented it, such a tiny thing would leave you swimming in money all day everyday.
