Today’s Mother’s Day celebration can be traced back to Anna M. Jarvis, who campaigned for an official Mother’s Day in remembrance of her mother, Anna Reeves Jarvis, a pioneering activist on public health issues.


oh well, it's good to know it didn't just come up randomly by someone who said "ugh i don't want to love my mum so much...i'll just give her my love for one day" cuz that'll be sad if it were like that.

genius #8: blu-tack
wiki: Blu-Tack is a versatile, reusable putty-like pressure-sensitive adhesive, commonly used to attach papers to walls or other surfaces. The original version of the product was blue, but many colours are now available.

oh gosh...many colours?!?!? how come i was unaware of this!

anyway so the genius was Austin Carpenter and golly. this thing is so amazing. i'm always seen to be playing, rolling, stretching blu-tack when i'm bored, it's just so fun! and you can make stuff out of it, like...i dunno...but its so cool.
